Chamber honours John Prescott

In honour of John Prescott’s contribution to British shipping, the President of the Chamber
of Shipping, David Dingle, hosted a small private dinner for the former seafarer and Deputy Prime Minister.
The dinner was held at the the Chamber, 12 Carthusian Street, and was also attended by Chamber of Shipping's past President Maurice Storey, Vice-President Martin Watson and the Director-General Mark Brownrigg.
The evening included a presentation to Mr Prescott of an engraved Armada silver plate with an engraving, which read in “appreciation of his invaluable contribution to reversing the decline of the British shipping industry."
With the approval of the Chamber of Shipping Board, Mr Prescott was also invited to hold Honorary Membership of the Chamber - an honour normally reserved only for Past Presidents and Directors-Generals. Mr Prescott has accepted.
